Location: This scenic stock farm is situated 5 km from the Nanaga interchange on the N2 to Grahamstown, in a beautiful region of the Eastern Cape. It is 55 km from Port Elizabeth and 65 km from Grahamstown.
Description: The farm is 238 ha in extent, and has a carrying capacity of 3 ha/LSU, with sweet veld all year round.
Farmhouse: The farm house has a scenic setting on the property. It is 196 sqm in area, and consists of 3 bedrooms. There is an additional rondavel with a bathroom.
Outbuildings: The farm includes the following outbuildings:- Sheds- well-designed shearing shed (294 sqm) with large lean-to, and old dairy building (177 sqm)- both with Eskom power. Outside office and double garage with roll up doors. Complex with Eskom power consisting of laundry, workshop, open shed and toilet. Spray race dip with kraal. Crush for working stock. Grazing: 150 ha K11 or buffelgras pastures with some natural grass or kweek veld, and 88 ha of natural bush type vegetation, all set in 40 camps with a good reliable water system.
Farming activities: Presently the farm has a herd of approximately 200 Jersey heifers, ranging in age from 2 months to 2 years. Boergoats, sheep, poultry, beef and game have also been farmed here.
Raising Jersey heifers for dairying- bought at 2 months old at weaning, fed calf pellets till approximately 7 months, mated and sold on point of calfing at 2 years.
Beauty and potential: This is a fully developed farm in a beautiful scenic setting with abundant bird life. The property includes many beautiful indigenous trees, eg sneezewoods and olive woods. There is also plenty of wildlife, including kudu.
There are wonderful views of the mountains and the sea, including the islands in Algoa Bay and the night lights of Port Elizabeth.
